SCHIPHOL-RIJK – Renault looks back at a successful edition of Dutch Design Week (DDW), which ran from 19 to 27 October 2019 in Eindhoven. Over 60,000 visitors made use of the free transportation service with the new Renault ZOE. Interest also went out to the Renault EZ concept cars, lectures by Laurens van den Acker and the online campaign ‘Design the car of the future’.

DDW is the biggest design event of Northern Europe, where the work of over 2,600 exhibitors was displayed for a week in over a hundred different locations in Eindhoven. The event attracted several hundred thousand visitors.
As partner of DDW, Renault provided 35 models of the new and fully electric ZOE for the free transportation service between all DDW locations. The so-called ‘Renault ZOE Design Rides’ each had a remarkable design piece on the roof and drove over 65,000 emission-free kilometres through Eindhoven. The cars were being charged using one of the largest mobile charging squares in Europe, which was developed especially for DDW and installed at the TU/e university campus by Van der Sijs techniek en automatisering. Thanks to the 22 kW AC charger of the Renault ZOE, each charging point realised an hourly charging range of 120km.

Additionally, three special Renault concept cars were on display in the Netherlands for the first time. The Renault EZ-GO, EZ-PRO and EZ-ULTIMO express Renault’s future vision for urban mobility in 2030. They were shown at the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven – the heart of DDW – and got the attention of almost hundred thousand visitors.
