Renault transports over 60,000 visitors at Dutch Design Week with Electric Zoe

ZOE

Dutch Design Week 2018 (DDW) has been a great success for Renault as event partner. 60,000 visitors have made use of the free transportation service with the full electric Renault ZOE. A lot of interest was shown in the unique SYMBIOZ house and car, where one of the DDW ambassadors Laurens van den Acker was also centre of attention.

Dutch Design Week took place from October 20th to 28th in Eindhoven this year and is the largest design event in Northern Europe. The event attracted 355,000 visitors and the work of 2,600 exhibitors was displayed for a week at 120 different locations.

To get all visitors to and from the different locations, Renault provided 45 units of the full electric ZOE as so-called Design Rides – a free transportation service with a striking design piece on each roof. Together, the Design Rides drove as many as 50,000 emission-free kilometres during DDW. One of the largest mobile charging squares in Europe was built in Eindhoven, in order to be able to charge the electric Renault ZOE.

During DDW a lot of attention was given to the SYMBIOZ concept, which includes a house and a car. In the middle of the Ketelhuisplein in Eindhoven, visitors could experience the way SYMBIOZ and its surroundings will be communicating in the future. The SYMBIOZ concept was designed by Laurens van den Acker, Senior Vice President Corporate Design at Renault since 2009. He was also present in Eindhoven as an ambassador of DDW.
